Summary Under the direction of the Procurement Manager, the Buyer 2 helps to execute company purchasing needs and provide best value and service for internal customers. Converts purchasing requests into purchase orders quickly, ensures acknowledgment of the receipt of the purchase order, and ensuring customer needs are met with on-time delivery by weekly scheduling with suppliers. Attends weekly meetings with suppliers and the internal production groups. Provides support in functional areas of the procurement department and assists with various other activities as required. Must be able to analyze Categories based on pricing, Technology, availability, and Continuous Improvement. Some administrative support may be required.

- Ability to verifies purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to parts master and drawings; clarifying unclear items; and recommending alternatives
- Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications; negotiating price, delivery dates and payment terms; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; obtaining approval from requisitioning group
- Sends purchase orders to suppliers, communicates effectively to resolve any questions, and makes revisions, as necessary
- Keeps information accessible by utilizing SharePoint and DocumentCentral for filing documents.
- Ability to communicate effectively and deal fairly and equitably with group members, peers, and suppliers
- Must be able to work in a schedule-driven environment. Timing is a critical function
- Must be able to work within project budget and complete work in a timely manner
- Prepares reports, data entry and other administrative tasks as required.
- Develop and maintain approved supplier list.
- Prepare presentations for continuous improvements showing cost savings, better delivery, new designs etc. (one per year)
- Manages 3-4 supplier schedule meetings.
- Interviews suppliers and visits their facilities to learn about products, services, and pricing.
- Mentors' buyer 1's with basic purchasing knowledge, polices, procedures and understanding of the basic WesTech Equipment.
- Prepares and holds Supplier scorecard reviews for 3-5 suppliers.
- Gains experience in Buyouts, Aftermarket, Fabrication, Solutions, Systems, Operations, Rentals, Pilots, Inventory, Drives, Electrical and Indirect Purchasing.
- Handles and processes returns, defects and Warranty items.
- Negotiates back charges, addresses Fabrication errors, and On-time delivery issues.

- Buyer 2: Mid-Level, 2-5 years' of directly related work experience in purchasing

- Buyer 2: Bachelor's degree OR equivalent work experience
- Experience:
- 5+ years' of directly related work experience in purchasing
- Experience using Navision
- Experience using SharePoint
- General knowledge of mechanical equipment
- Spanish speaking skills or other foreign language a plus
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Strong analytical skills, good in working with numbers
Physical Requirements: - Ability to sit at workstation using computer/phone.
- Frequently required to sit, talk, hear, and see.
- Regularly required to move around the facility.
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
