About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Public Safety Officer to provide strategic leadership and vision for the public safety department. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the department's practices and objectives align with the company's mission, and for fostering positive relations with the local community. This role involves overseeing the integration of public safety services into the campus community, leading a team of public safety officers and staff, and working closely with various stakeholders on emergency management responses. The Chief will also be tasked with administration and compliance, staff leadership and development, operations, and strategic collaboration with local, regional, and state law enforcement and emergency response officials. Applicants for the Chief Public Safety Officer position at the company should have a bachelor's degree, a minimum of 5 years of law enforcement or security experience in a management capacity, and a strong knowledge of relevant laws and current issues in public safety and private security. Experience in a higher education environment is highly valued. The ideal candidate will demonstrate respect for the company's mission, possess strong leadership and communication skills, and have a proven track record of building and leading high-functioning teams. Key attributes include the ability to maintain professional conduct, a commitment to diversity, and the ability to remain composed and effective in emergency and conflict situations.
