Provide support as directed by designated supervisor.
JOB SUMMARY Working independently and exercising good judgment and discretion, this position would assist the ongoing development and performance of Club Sports marketing, promotions, game day coordination, and website content management. The person performing this role will understand, follow, and disseminate Liberty University policies regarding planning for upcoming men's hockey, men's lacrosse, and men's volleyball seasons, administrative marketing tasks, and ordering of marketing and promotional materials. This position will work closely with all marketing and game day staff to organize and oversee administrative marketing/promotional tasks, any marketing student workers and interns, and overall contribute to the organization of gameday functions.
**This position is not a full time role and is intended for those interested in pursuing a graduate program at Liberty University.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Assist in planning the promotional schedules for Club Sports teams including but not limited to Men's D1 Hockey, Men's Lacrosse, and Men's Volleyball.
2. Coordinate and attend all Men's D1 Hockey games to ensure promotions are rolled out according to plan and sponsorship needs are met. Ideal candidates will be able to use creative problem solving skills to work through any issues regarding fan/sponsor experience or game day production needs.
3. Responsible for coordinating/running the Will Call ticketing table during MD1 for VIPs, groups, sponsors, etc.
4. Support Arena hosts and media team as needed.
5. Create, organize, and oversee game day requests and coordinating promotional items and/or website content for Club Sports and its teams.
6. Support the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of content on the Club Sports website as needed.
7. Prepare for seasons through ordering suite gift, promotional items, and all things fan-related.
8. Organize promotions with various outside vendors such as the Commuter Life or sponsors.
9. Organize and manage digital files and tracking documents, as well as offer administrative support when needed.
10. Responsible for assisting with departmental paperwork, departmental e-mail communication, running errands, Club Sports special event's needs, and other assigned tasks as needed.
11. This is a position that requires professional, courteous, and polite interactions with Liberty University Staff and external clients. Furthermore, this position may require some evening & weekend availability.
12. Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position will oversee various interns each semester, and some marketing staff.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS Education and Experience Four-year college degree, with a concentration in communications, sport management, or related degree, experience with administrative marketing experience.
ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES ESSENTIAL TO THE FUNCTION OF THE JOB Communication and Comprehension - Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well articulated information.
- Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
- Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business and community customers and associates.
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Problem Solving - Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
Physical and Sensory Abilities - Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building.
- Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.
WORKING CONDITIONS Work Environment The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled office setting.It is well lighted and the noise level is moderate.Attending events may cause some exposure to outdoor elements.
Driving Requirements Use of one's personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) is required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position.Proof of a valid Virginia driver's license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
