Job Description

Seeking a Conveyor Service Technician for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Carlstadt, NJ. The Conveyor Service Technician will perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot service conveyor systems at customer sites and perform preventative maintenance. Travel to customer sites will be within a 50 mile radius.

This position is Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm with weekends, only as necessary for preventative maintenance.

Pay is $40/hr.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret machine manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings relative to equipment assigned.
• Repair and adjust conveyor systems using hand tools and power tools.
• Install belts in machinery, tighten bolts, adjust tension rolls, straighten parts, align rollers, and replace defective parts.
• PLC installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• VFD (AC drives) installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Perform preventive maintenance and provide customer support.
• Fill out detailed reports and keep records of services that have been performed.
• Explain issues with equipment and repairs to customers and management, when necessary.
• Maintain a working knowledge of spare parts inventories as needed for current PM contracts-inform Supervisor when replacement parts or when parts are used so that can be reordered.
• Responsible for maintaining FlowTrack (inventory system).
• Train and mentor other service technicians.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience performing predictive and preventative maintenance on all types of conveyors
• Experience in wiring machinery is required.
• Understanding appropriate safety requirements including lockout/tag-out, arc flash practices, etc.
• Possess the ability to install, repair, service, test and troubleshoot an assortment of equipment.
• Ability to work flexible hours and work around regular hours for emergency calls.
• Certifications in all lift equipment.
• Certifications in OSHA and Safety Knowledge.
• Must be able to meet physical requirements of the job, which include bending, lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Fluent in English, Spanish language skills are a plus.
