Job Summary

KAVKAZ Express LLC is looking for an  experienced  Fleet Manager to join our team.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, direct, and manage the programs for utilization, maintenance, repair and replacement of fleet
  • Coordinate, supervise and participate in the repair and servicing of the fleet (preventive maintenance plan, such as oil change schedule, etc.)
  • Schedule maintenance of vehicles, comply with driving regulations
  • Schedule annual inspections, apply for EZpass and registrations
  • Address all driver issues and questions as quickly as possible
  • Respond to inquiries regarding trailer rentals
  • Install Logbooks
  • Prepare reports detailing the effectiveness of the fleet
  • Perform administrative functions, including but not limited to creating and signing truck and trailers lease agreements, emailing, signing and printing out agreements for the drivers; scanning, and completing repair orders; processing parking space and monthly rent payments, etc.
  • Search system for registration and inspection information for drivers
  • Call customers to collect past due payments for parking lot spaces
  • Release and return the company equipment to and from our customers
  • Oversee the office in Gary, IN; travel twice a week to meet with the drivers and staff
  • Other related duties as assigned

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • High school diploma; Associates or Bachelor Degree is preferred
  • 2+ years of proven experience in fleet maintenance or operations in the trucking company
  • Valid CDL A is preferred 
  • Over the road driving experience is preferred
  • Must know truck and trailer components
  • Must have previous experience working and managing staff within the trucking industry
  • Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations, company policies and procedures
  • Excellent planning and leadership abilities
  • An eye for detail

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to excellent customer service
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • A proven leader and team player, dependable, consistent, and reliable

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Talking, hearing, and lifting up to 30 pounds
