REQUIREMENT
Healthcare/Public Health Informatics Project Manager (Informatica) - Honolulu, HI (Hawaii) - Remote - Fully remote with possibility of in-person meetings when necessary - 12+ months contract
Overall Experience: 10+ years of experience is a must.
SCOPE OF WORK: The Informatics Project Manager will oversee the development and implementation of Electronic Laboratory Reporting (ELR), Electronic Case Reporting (eCR), and Syndromic Surveillance (SyS) systems for the Clients Department. They will manage the development of autonomous attesting mechanisms, establish data quality frameworks, and create internal policies for informatics operations. The role includes providing technical expertise, building staff capacity, assisting with healthcare entity implementations, and managing the attestation portal for healthcare provider validation with CMS Promoting Interoperability program.
Education: Master’s degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience, including Epidemiology, Informatics, Data Science, and similar fields.
Certifications: No specific certifications are mentioned as required, but must complete HIPAA/PHI privacy and security training after hire.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in related field (Epidemiology, Informatics, Data Science, or similar) OR equivalent work experience.
5 years of experience in health IT, informatics, and data science within public health/healthcare setting.
Experience with Syndromic Surveillance and Electronic Case Reporting.
Ability to write complex SQL database queries.
Strong Microsoft Office skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
More than 5 years of experience in health IT/informatics.
Systems development and design experience.
Experience with electronic health record vendors and Health-Level 7.
Experience working with state/territorial or local health agencies.
Training development experience.
Knowledge:
Proven working experience in project management.
Knowledge of public health principles, practice, and policies regarding informatic systems and platforms.
Demonstrated ability and understanding of Syndromic Surveillance and its application, including the creation and support of alert-based models.
Demonstrated ability and understanding of Electronic Case Reporting and its application, including the onboarding of new providers.
Demonstrated ability to handle complex assignments with minimal supervision.
Understanding of and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information and interface with the highest level of internal and external stakeholders.
Knowledge and implementation of RCKMS Authoring mechanisms.
Understanding of policies and procedures pertinent to maintaining healthcare facility standards/certification/accreditation.
Skills/Abilities:
Project management expertise.
Healthcare informatics systems knowledge.
SQL and database management.
Ability to implement data quality frameworks.
Experience with ELR, eCR, and SyS systems.
Strong client-facing and internal communication skills.
Knowledge of RCKMS Authoring mechanisms.
