**MARIN COUNTY PARKS:** Marin County Parks offers an extensive system of regional and community parks, open space preserves and trails for public use and enjoyment. The department consists of two divisions: The Parks and Landscape Division and the Marin County Open Space District (MCOSD). Lifeguards will be assigned to work the season at McNears Beach Park in San Rafael. McNears Beach pool is open for recreational swimming daily from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm between May and the beginning of September. Lifeguards can expect to work between two and five days a week. Flexible schedules will be considered.
Duties may include, but are not limited to: Enforcing pool rules and regulations; providing information to the public; performing routine maintenance duties to keep the pool and facility in clean and safe condition; collecting admission fees and preparing daily reconciliation and bank deposit preparation; responding to emergency situations in the pool; performing tests to ensure safe pool water quality; maintaining routine records and performing other related duties as required. **Physical Demands**: Must have the ability to perform heavy physical labor and lift materials weighing up to 40 pounds and heavier weights with proper equipment.
**Working Conditions:** Must be willing to work independently for extended periods in remote locations, off-hours and weekend schedules, and outdoors in any weather conditions. Work may occur in areas with natural hazards such as poison oak and ticks. Must be willing to wear a uniform.
County Employees as Disaster Service Workers: All County of Marin employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law (California Government Code Section 3100-3109). Employment with the County requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all Disaster Service Worker-related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.
