Description SUMMARY
Ensure the stable operation of the in-house computer network. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all local and wide area network connections, corporate servers, associated software, and communication links. This person will also troubleshoot network performance issues, as well as analyze network traffic and provide capacity planning solutions. Other duties or projects, as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
-Design, install, and configure routers, switches, firewalls, and other network equipment.
-Identify, resolve and document technical network issues.
-Provide guidance, training and support for Senior Network Specialist, Tier I, and Tier II on network issues.
-Manage security solutions, including firewall and intrusion detection systems.
-Develop Roadmaps for the network to ensure compatibility and interoperability.
-Recommend, schedule and apply network equipment software patches, firmware updates and other upgrades on a regular basis, and maintain administrative tools and utilities.
-Adhere to and complete project tasks within assigned timeframes.
-Create network design proposals.
-Perform periodic network reports for capacity planning.
-Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
-Interact with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.
-Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery.
-Document LAN, WAN and cloud network infrastructure.
-Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
-Assist in network and security audits.
-Perform network configuration image backups and recovery. #ind1
Position Requirements EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in the field of engineering, computer science, computer information systems, or a related technical field and/or combination of education & experience. Preferred Certifications: CCNP
EXPERIENCE
-5-7 years equivalent work experience in networking.
-Working technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including Microsoft 7, Server Operating systems, Cisco iOS and NXOS, etc.
-Hands-on technical knowledge of network systems, protocols, and standards such as Ethernet, LAN, WAN, MPLS, xDSL, TCP/IP, ATM, T1,
802.11x, OTV, etc.
-Strong knowledge of network management and analysis tools, including network analyzers/sniffers, Cisco Prime and Solarwinds.
-Client/server and operating system experience with Microsoft, Cisco and VMWare
-Experience working in a switched and routed environment.
-Hardware, software, and network connection troubleshooting experience
-Working technical knowledge of current network hardware including, Cisco Nexus, Cisco UCS, Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Wireless LAN
contollers, Cisco 6500's, Cisco ASA firewalls and related hardware.
-Skilled at installing/configuring hubs, switches, routers, bridges, etc.
-Knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other network security measures.
Gaming License Must obtain and maintain a Gaming License.
