Part of simulation includes utilizing Standardized Patients (SP) for simulated clinical encounters, physical exams, interviews and more! SPs are people who portray patients in educational simulated encounters with students. SPs are trained to be able to recreate physical characteristics, memorize and present medical histories, and have physical exams performed on them. An SP will also be trained to provide feedback to students on their communication skills. Being an SP impacts the students' experience during their education and can be greatly rewarding.
Hours are flexible and are dependent upon which scheduled events are selected by the SP for participation. Most events occur Monday-Friday between the hours of 8am and 5pm with some weekend events available.
SPs will be asked to attend mandatory trainings which could be in person or via zoom. Events will largely occur in-person at Creighton's Phoenix Health Sciences Campus located on 3100 N Central Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85012.
